One for the books!
Saturday morning the Chapel Hill Varsity Boys competed at the UIL State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock. The boys placed 12th overall as a team and beat all other teams from their region.
Russell led the way coming in 41st with a time of 16:55. Following him were Lucas Thomas 70th 17:17, CJ Kump 93rd 17:38, Cameron Thomas 98th 17:44, Marcos Netro 104th 17:49, Tristan Davis 145th 20:24, and Braxton Sanders 148th 21:34.
Coach Bynum had this to say about the meet and the season, “Today we competed very well. Some earned their best times they have ever ran this season. With the exception of one, we have a very young team and this experience is something we will build on and continue to get stronger. This season has been one for the books, especially with our one senior, Russell Hedges, he will be greatly missed. He was a true leader for this team. All the boys looked up to him. I know he will have a bright future ahead of him.”
