Titus County Commissioners took a few minutes Monday morning to thank Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Chief Clerk Terri Aydelott for serving as interim Justice of the Peace while JP Paula Dyke was undergoing cancer treatments.

Dyke recently returned after a long-term medical leave. Commissioners thanked Aydelott for filling in for seven months.

County Judge Brian Lee lauded Aydelott for filling in at the difficult post. ”She’s a real trouper,” he said.

Aydelott she was happy to help, and praised Judge Dyke. “I love my boss,” she said.

Pointing to Dyke in the audience, she added “She’s still my queen, I’m just a princess.”

At the conclusion of the recognition Ayedelott, Dyke and the commissioners posed for a group photo.
