Gordon honorably served in the United States Army. He graduated from West Texas State University and was employed by the Civil Service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant.
Left to cherish his memory is his two daughters, Diane Wheeler of Virginia and Janet and her husband Robert Lubonski of Mount Pleasant; his grandchildren, Aaron and his wife Christine Wheeler, Rachel Wheeler, Kristoffer and his wife Mary Gobeil and Jonathan Gobeil; four great grandchildren, Chase Wheeler, Skylar Wheeler, George Wheeler and Ella Jane Gobeil; brother, Lynn and his wife Jeri Williams and his sister, Carolyn and her husband Weldon Cox; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Mark Williams, his mother and father, Thelma and Floyd Brasher; his wife, Ruby Williams; daughter, Rhonda Gail Williams; son-in-law, George Wheeler and his siblings, Jimmy Brasher and Pat Huff.
Funeral services for Gordon will be held at 4:00 p.m.Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m.until noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 1, 2018 at Memory Garden Cemetery in Canyon.
