TEXAS BLUE/RED RUN - Team Mount Pleasant Police


Seven Officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department participated in the Fourth Annual BLUE/RED RUN that took place at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie on Sunday November 12, 2017. Officers participated in various events including the Half marathon, 5K and 10k runs
The run benefited the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation (TPCAF) Officer Death Benefit Program and the Firefighters With Cancer Fund. If a Texas law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty, the TPCAF foundation delivers a check to the surviving spouse, children, or parents in order to provide immediate funds to a family in time of crisis. The Firefighters With Cancer Fund helps firefighters with cancer supporting their needs.
All Mount Pleasant Officers ran personal best times with several officers winning top awards in their respective age groups and races. Officer Reyes Guerrero was awarded first place in the 5K Race for age group 25 to 29,

Corporal Mark Stacks was awarded first place in the 5K race for age group 50 to 54, and Officer Angel Mendoza was awarded third place in the 5K Race for age group 30 to 34. Assistant Chief Kyle Holcomb was award second place in the 10K Race for age group 45 to 49. 

The rest of the team consisted of Officer Megan Yates in the 5K race, Detective Melissa Gonzalez in the 10K race and Sergeant Chris Bruton in the Half Marathon.
