The Titus County Shelter Friends say that for the past two days the Mount Pleasant Texas Animal Shelter has been at maximum capacity with pets that desperately need a home. They are coming in faster than they can get them adopted, rescued, or fostered.
The staff of the shelter has an overwhelming task of trying to save pets that are there by no fault of their own. Walk a mile in their shoes. They have very difficult jobs trying to clean up the mess somebody else made. It is a human problem, not an animal problem.
Sure we are preaching to the choir but it is the only way to not have the continuous flow of homeless pets into the shelter.
Be responsible and get your pets spayed and neutered now before the spring puppy and kitten season begins. Call your veterinarian and schedule an appointment now. If you think that costs too much, please consider the cost to the unwanted animals. You will also have a happy and healthier pet.
