Pair arrested for narcotics

On Friday, Feb. 19, the Titus County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotic search warrant in the 1100 block of West 16th Street in Mount Pleasant.

The investigation began after the Sheriff’s Office obtained information that Karl Wendell Rockwell and Miranda Kirkpatrick were selling illegal narcotics out of a local motel room. Titus County Narcotic Investigators obtained probable cause and an affidavit was presented to Justice of the Peace Kay McNutt, who after review, agreed probable cause existed for the search warrant.

The search warrant was executed at approximately 7:30 p.m. and both Rockwell and Kirkpatrick were located inside the motel room at which time they were detained.

Methamphetamines were found immediately in plain view along with a digital weighing scale, a pipe and marijuana.

Rockwell and Kirkpatrick were both placed under arrest for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >=4G<200G, a Felony of the 1st Degree, and transported to the Titus County Jail.
