Mount Pleasant Junior High School Choir students recently attended the Junior High Solo and Ensemble Contest at Greenville Middle School. Three of the students earned Division 1’s, the top score a student can receive, while one earned a Division 2.
Eighth graders Rachell Moreno and Karrigan Brown and 7th grader Breanna Daffern earned the Division 1’s. The Division 2 was earned by 8th grader Haileigh Clark, who had joined the choir at the beginning of January.
“All of these students memorized and performed solos for a judge at this contest,” explained MPJHS Choir Director Joshua Miles. “I am extremely proud of the extra effort and practice that these students put in to be successful at this event. It is a mark of dedication and character to give up the time it takes to really prepare, and be successful.
