TCSO seeks public's help in thefts

The Titus County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a theft of industrial batteries and needs the public’s help.

On Dec. 29th, 2015, the Titus County Sheriff’s Office received a report that industrial batteries like the one seen in the photograph above had been stolen from a cell tower located near Winfield.

Based on undisclosed evidence, investigators have reason to believe that the theft was carried out by either current or former employees and or current or former contractors who service cell phone towers.

On that date, a large number of the expensive and unique batteries were taken. Investigators believe the stolen batteries to be of use in limited applications and would have an industry specific use or potentially, could be of scrap values.

Anyone who has any information which might lead to identifying a suspect in this case, is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office with any helpful information.

The stolen batteries measure approximately 22 inches deep, 5 inches wide, and 12 & 1/2 inches tall and are shown in the attached photos.

Anyone with information regarding this theft, is asked to contact with an investigator at (903) 572-6641.

Persons with information may also elect to remain anonymous and provide information through Northeast Texas Crime Stoppers at (903) 577-8477.
