The main SWEPCO power line that comes into northeast Mount Pleasant via the Business Park and feeds the sub station on Industrial is being upgraded with steel poles replacing the wood ones. This line came down about six years ago when the city received six inches of snow on Christmas Day and left large parts of Mount Pleasant without power for days. This is the last stage of SWEPCO's project to upgrade local distribution lines in the area.
