Persistence pays off

In June of 2019, Titus County Sheriff's Office took a report of a stolen six wheel amphibious UTV with only a handful of potential leads to follow up on. The location of the vehicle remained unknown to Titus County Investigators until yesterday but the search had never been discontinued.

Never one to give up easily, Investigator Sgt. Craig Brown continued his search for not only the stolen UTV, but also for the perpetrators responsible for the theft.

His tenacity and intuition paid off when late last night, Brown found the clue he had believed he had been looking for. On Friday Morning, Brown and another investigator traveled to Hempstead and Nevada County, Arkansa,s where they enlisted the aid of local authorities who assisted in locating and recovering the stolen UTV.

The investigation into identifying all of the suspects in this case remains underway at this time. Property crimes can frequently be real puzzles but fortunately, tenacity often prevails.

The UTV will be returned to the happy owner in following days.
