When the phone rings at the fire station you never know what the request will be. Today was no exception.
A very observant homeowner discovered a baby owl had fallen out of its nest from high atop a tree. After calling around the state to speak with rehabilitation groups that specialized in the care of owls, it was their recommendation to return the owl to its nest. The homeowner reached out to MPFD to see if they might offer assistance.
The owl was safely returned to the nest and appears to be doing great.
You never know what a day in the life of a Mt. Pleasant Firefighter will bring, but there's no place else they'd rather be!
