Please congratulate these Sergeants on achieving these new positions!
On October 2, 2018, in the City Council Chamber the Mount Pleasant Police Department held a Sergeant Promotional Ceremony.
The Master of Ceremonies was Assistant Chief Kyle Holcomb. Ashton Lewis and Mark Stacks were promoted to the position of Sergeant in the Patrol Division. Chief Holcomb went over the Core Values of the department (Professionalism, Teamwork, Integrity, Service and Leadership) and how these officers exemplify these values.
Ashton Lewis- Started his Law Enforcement career with Titus County Sheriff Office as a jailer, where he served as a jailer for a year before being the first to be sponsored through the police academy by TCSO in 20 years. He served as a deputy from 2009 until 2014. During his time with TCSO, he served as a Corporal, Field Traing Officer, and was on the SWAT team. He started with Mount Pleasant PD on March 2014. He served as a patrol officer before transferring to Detective, where he stayed for 4 years before promoting to Sergeant. He is a member of the Honor Guard and SWAT teams, is a Certified Instructor and is a Defensive Tactics Instructor. Lewis holds an Advanced Peace Officer License. He graduated with Honors with an Associates Degree and is currently working on his bachelor’s degree. His wife, Brittany Lewis, pinned his new badge on his uniform.
Mark Stacks- Was in the United States Marines from 1981 until 1992. He is a combat veteran and was a Marine Drill Instructor. He started his career in law enforcement with the Mount Pleasant Police Department in August of 2014. While here, he has become a Certified Instructor and a Radar/Lidar/Laser Certified Instructor. He oversees the Honor Guard and is the Field Training Coordinator. His wife, Rhonda Stacks, pinned his new badge on his uniform.
