PERSONAL ‘OPINION’ ON TITUS COUNTY, TEXAS PRECINCT 4 COMMISSIONER & UNIT ROAD SYSTEM VOTES:

Please pay close attention to the second word in the capitalized title above. Everybody has one, and this is mine.

Note the attached picture, from September of 2014, of what Jimmy Parker said he would do if you elected him commissioner in Precinct 4.

Play close attention to the word FIGHT(S) as it appears in the ad four times. Now ask yourself these questions. When has Jimmy Parker FOUGHT for you as a taxpayer? When has Jimmy Parker FOUGHT to cut spending in the County budget? When did Jimmy Parker FIGHT to recover money from the loop project mistakes and HOW MUCH money did he get? When did Jimmy Parker FIGHT to lower taxes to attract more businesses and families to Titus County?

Here’s a factoid: when you FIGHT for something in County Government, or anything for that matter, your name gets on the front page of the paper! When you FIGHT to control/limit government (think Donald Trump) YOU HAVE TO GO AGAINST THE STATUS QUO. In Precinct 4, has Jimmy Parker gone against the status quo for you like he said he would do?

I recommend a write in vote in Precinct 4 for Wesley McCollum. Wesley has stated that he’s for keeping the Unit System and reducing commissioner salaries, which in salaries alone will save the county about $1,000,000 over a five year period - that saved money will fix a lot of roads.

If you want to see a change in County Government, write in Wesley McCollum for commissioner in Precinct 4. He’s a FIGHTER!

Also, vote against the Proposition, which will keep fixing roads in the hands of a well qualified engineer, move commissioners to part time, and again, as stated above, potentially save about $1,000,000 in commissioner salaries over a five year period.

Prediction, you will see a lot of responses to this post. But pay close attention to the validity of the responses. I’ve seen very few arguments to go back to the old system which are based on logic, reason, and common sense. And remember: a personal attack, naming calling, and attacks on character, are simply statements that say the person has no argument.

Remember, the roads you are driving on today are the results of the old system. It’s amazing to me as to how many people don’t see and understand this fact. The roads in this county didn’t all of a sudden go bad in the past year that the road engineer has had the opportunity to work on them. All of these pictures and complaints you are seeing and reading ARE THE RESULTS OF THE OLD SYSTEM WHICH DID NOT WORK.
