Congratulations to Ms. Lydia Reed, #GED Teacher at the Mt. Pleasant Community Resource Center, for being selected as NTCC Adult Education’s “Teacher of the Month” for October 2018. Lydia was presented with a $25 gift card to Herschel's Restaurant.
Here is what Lydia had to say about the program:
"Being a teacher with the Adult Education Program at NTCC has helped me achieve my personal and professional goals of assisting others in reaching their educational and career goals, just as I have been guided and motivated by others throughout my life, especially by my mom and family. Students who participate in the program have many adult responsibilities, yet still make time to come to classes in order to improve their English skills and/or prepare for the GED exam. Their dedication and persistence are truly an inspiration. Learning another language or relearning math, language arts, science and social studies are not easy tasks, but sometimes the hardest part is just making it to class twice a week. My students deserve to be recognized for their persistence and dedication to their commitment to study and earn a GED despite the many obstacles and challenges they may face. I look forward to each class because I know there will be friendly faces, positive attitudes, and receptive students awaiting me. It has been an honor and a blessing to work with the staff and students in the Adult Education Program."
Thank you, Lydia, for all you do to make a difference in the lives of our students. We appreciate your commitment and dedication to the Adult Education Program. Happy Eating! 😍
A special thanks to Herschel's Restaurant - Mount Pleasant, TX for the generous donation to our Adult Education “Teacher/Staff of the Month” Incentive Program. We appreciate your support!
Stay tuned to find out who our November Teacher/Staff of the Month will be!
