This is not how we usually like to welcome new people to the community
But TRMC is thankful that Mr. Bradey Arrington chose to come to the hospital when he realized that he needed emergency medical attention.
Mr. Arrington moved to Mount Pleasant from his hometown of Magnolia, Arkansas for a great job opportunity and he was just starting to adjust to the new job and town when he noticed that he felt "off". "I felt like I was running low on energy. Around 2-3 pm everyday I just felt tired and not right. This happened for 2-3 weeks," said Mr. Arrington.
Mr. Arrington and his girlfriend visited with family in Arkansas over Labor Day weekend and drove back to Mount Pleasant on Monday. The whole way back he did not feel well. Around 8 pm that night he started to experience some symptoms of heart attack, specifically excessive sweating and shortness of breath.
Mr. Arrington did not seek immediate medical attention because he did not have all of the symptoms that he thought were typically associated with heart attack. This along with the fact that he is 47 years old caused him to hesitate. Today Mr. Arrington would advise anyone who thinks they may be experiencing a heart attack to get help immediately.
His symptoms continued to get worse over thirty minutes of waiting. At approximately 8:35 pm, he decided it was time to go to the emergency room.
After a quick evaluation our emergency department confirmed that Mr. Arrington was having a heart attack. Dr. Sigal and his team worked vigorously to place a stent in his 100% blocked artery, known as the widow maker.
Today, Mr. Arrington is recovering and cannot say enough about how impressed he is with the care he received at TRMC.
