A very special morning

Tex Willis arriving from Winnsboro to Pittsburg to surprise Mr. Quinn
This morning was a very special morning for a very special friend of Cypress Basin Hospice.
Upon working on Mr. Quinn's Life Journal book, volunteer Melissa Pearson and Assistant Volunteer Services Coordinator Yorri Massey got to listen to many stories about Mr. Quinn's 1929 Model A pickup truck that he bought for $10 when he was younger.
Story after story, laugh after laugh, Melissa and Yorri could tell how much joy reminiscing about that 1929 truck brought Mr. Quinn and that's when they decided to bring his reminiscing to life.
Thanks to friends at the Camp County Chamber of Commerce and a few phone calls later, Tex Willis, President of Autumn Trails Association in Winnsboro, joyfully agreed to set up a time to take Mr. Quinn on a joy ride.
Wednesday morning, they got to surprise Mr. Quinn with Willis' restored 1929 Model A pickup truck and the two took a ride around Pittsburg.
In Mr. Quinn's words, Tex's pickup was "a Cadillac compared to the one I had!" The joy on Mr. Quinn's face when he realized the truck was there for him was a moment that we will all remember forever.
Hospice is about living, and today, Mr. Quinn was able to live by reliving, with the wind in his hair and a smile on his face.

Mr. Quinn waving to his family as they head out on the town!
