Suspect sought in armed robbery
On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at approximately 8:05 P.M., Officers were dispatched to 1009 South Jefferson Avenue (Verizon Store), about a robbery that had just occurred at that location. While in route, the Mount Pleasant Police Department Dispatch advised, the victim was held up at gun point and the suspect was no longer in the store.
Officers discovered the victim had been tied up and was able to free herself enough to call 911. She stated the black male suspect came in to the store and asked for a phone that was kept in the back of the store. When she went to retrieve it, the suspect followed her to the back. She turned around to see the suspect had a gun pointed at her. She advised the suspect took several phones and placed them in garbage bags along with some money that was on scene. The suspect then tied her up and advised her to not move. The suspect then left the store and she was able to free herself enough to call 911.
The suspect’s description is a black male about 5’09” tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. The suspect had gold front teeth and was wearing blue jeans tucked inside brown work boots, dark colored shirt, blue boonies style hat, and had dreadlocks at shoulder length. The suspect was seen leaving in a silver colored compact car.
