Meet Alondra Flores
Alondra is a former #GED student in the NTCC Adult Education Program. She attended classes at the Community Resource Center in Mt. Pleasant taught by Ms. Lydia Reed. Alondra just recently received her GED diploma and participated the GED ceremony held in May.
Here’s Alondra’s story:
“For some reason life put me on a different path than the one I had planned. After I got married and had my baby, it took me two years, but I finally gained enough courage and strength to go and ask some questions about how to get my GED. After many years of attending class, studying, and giving the best of me, I passed my GED last month and was able to participate in GED Graduation. Now, I able to go to college, and I look forward to all the opportunities that having my GED will offer. I know it’s not going to be easy, and I will still face obstacles in life, but I’m now on the right path to a successful future. I want to set an example for my baby and for my family to be proud of me.”
Alondra plans to attend Northeast Texas Community College in the near future and major in nursing. She wants to begin a career doing what she loves, helping people.
Alondra shares some great words of wisdom and encouragement for current students. “Never give up on your dreams and goals. It will be hard, but in a couple of years, the results of all your hard work will pay off.”
