New Medicare cards

TRMS says new cards for Medicare patients will soon be going out in the mail. 

CMS is changing cards to remove the social security number and replace it with a Medicare account number. The first of the new cards will be mailed in early April, but CMS says the process will take up to a year. 

In the era of scams, CMS is concerned that many Medicare beneficiaries will not believe the new card is legitimate and may trash it, or they may be subject to non-Medicare authorized mailings or phone calls that mislead seniors.
