The Mount Pleasant Junior High School Advanced Dance Team (ADT) brought home numerous awards from the American Dance and Drill Team National/International Dance Competition held at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
In the National category, the team competed against other Junior High/Middle Schools and in the International category they competed against Junior High/Middle Schools, High Schools, Dance Studios and International teams from Japan.
In the National category, MPJHS took 1st place and National Champion in Jazz and in Novelty and placed 2nd in Pom.
The Jazz team includes Nevaeh Bardwell, Carlie Cunningham, Sarah Godfrey, Grelyn Goolsby, Mary Kait Heeren, Mackenzie Lide, Juliana Perez, Emma Sellers and Anna Claire Wall. The Novelty and Pom teams also include Emma Burrows, Chloe Carter, Leslie Moreno, Kim Robles and Emily Shelton.
Out of five solo finalists, MPJHS had four: Nevaeh Bardwell placed 2nd, Sarah Godfrey and Juliana Perez tied for 3rd place, and Anna Claire Wall took 4th place.
