As we are starting to see some warmer days, please be considerate of your pet when taking them with you in your vehicle.
The Mount Pleasant Animal Services and Shelter is already starting to receive calls about pets left in vehicles with all the windows up. It only takes about ten minutes for the temperature of the inside of your car to increase 20 degrees, and the longer you wait the hotter it will become in the vehicle.
So even on days when it's only 70 outside, inside your vehicle can get to 90 very quickly! Even though we love taking our pets everywhere we go, some days it may be best to leave them at home!
