The Mt. Pleasant High School swim team did an excellent job at the Regional meet this past weekend in Lewisville.
Ryan Sharp earned the spot of 10th place Boys Individual Swimmer of the meet.
The MPHS Girls team was awarded the honor of 10th place team of the meet.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay consisting of Lily Grace Jones, Makayla Houchin, Isabella Greco, and Anna Elliott placed 7th. The same group of athletes placed 7th in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Ryan Sharp placed 4th in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke. He shaved off time in both races from Friday to Saturday.
Makayla Houchin placed 8th in the 100 Yard Butterfly and took off time from Friday to Saturday's race.
Swimming in the first heat of finals were Lily Grace Jones in the 50 Yard Freestyle and placing 8th.
Ty Hearron placed 8th in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
Makayla Houchin placed 5th and Anna Elliott placed 6th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Coach Johnson states, "It always amazes me how well our athletes do at both the District and Regional level against teams who've had more practice time. I am thrilled with how much dedication and effort my swimmers put in to get as much practice time as they can on their own. I am already looking forward to next year's season with these athletes and the incoming Freshmen."
