Editor’s Note: This is the fourth in a series of articles reviewing the candidates in the upcoming March 6 Republican Primary.
Hundreds of people packed the Mount Pleasant Civic Center as the Tri-County Press hosted its third annual Candidates’ Forum on Feb. 15.
Irma Dunn and Tim Blair are facing off to succeed long-time Justice of the Peace Paula Dyke in the Precinct 2 position.
Dunn touted her service from 2008 to 2017 as a clerk in the JP office, and cited her professional training over the years, including classes at NTCC.
She said she understands the environment of the Justice of the Peace office, and believes everyone need to be treated “with dignity and respect”.
Blair is a long-time member of the Blodgett Volunteer Fire Department and neighborhood watch. He’s served on the Planning and Zoning Board as well as the zoning board of appeals.
Tri-County Press Publisher Sonya Woods fielded questions from the audience.
When asked if they would make any changes in the office, both said they thought it is well run. Both also pledged they would be available around the clock if needed and called.
