Services for Nora Gray are Thursday

Long-time Talco resident Nora Biles Gray passed away Monday January 1, 2018 in Houston, after a brief illness. She was born September 5, 1926 in Ogdon Arkansas to A.T. “Slim” and Irene (Walker) Biles.

Nora had lived the last ten years in Houston to be near her family. She was a member of the Saint Andrews United Methodist Church and a former employee of Texas New Mexico Power Company.

She is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Gray of Houston, Texas, nephew, Phillip Sharpe of Sarasota, Florida and her niece, Suzi Merritt of Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, James R. Gray; sisters, Lorene Biles Pender, Dollie Biles Sharpe and Julia Biles Merritt Riddick.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the Chapel at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Talco Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday.

The family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
