Rotary program
Tuesday's Mount Pleasant Rotary Club program was District Rotary Foundation Chairperson, Carroll Greenwaldt. He updated everyone on the hospital project in San Benito, Guatemala.
This hospital serves over 350,000 people in northern Guatemala. With the funds raised in the District, as well as matching funds from the Rotary Foundation, the hospital has purchased (for the first time) nursery and NICU equipment that has resulted in a 60% decline in infant mortality. And this hospital delivers up to 60 babies a day!
When the impoverished of the world are helped, it gives hope that they will see that blowing up their fellow citizens is not the way to security and peace. Join Rotary today, and help change the world.
