On the campaign trail

Isabelle Smith (right) hosted a coffee Saturday in Cookville for Judy Kent, who is running for Precinct 4 Commissioner.

Smith said "Judy,  thank you for representing the taxpayers. I am still reeling at the amount my property taxes increased this year! Al Riddle was the only commissioner out of four who asked to study cutting spending instead of raising taxes and I was in the meetings when Jimmy Parker bragged about how little additional tax on the taxpayers would provide a quarter of a million more for the commissioners to spend. Now I have my tax bill and it was not a little!"
