Titus County fugitive caught in South Texas

Eric Alonzo Zaldivar-Orona has been on the run since 2011 after he was indicted for one count of Kidnapping and six counts of Burglary of a Habitation in Titus County.
The several charges stemmed from Zaldivar’s activities that summer and culminated with his Nov. 2011. At that time Zaldivar was arrested when a Titus County Investigator attempted to stop Zaldivar for investigative purposes, and Zaldivar refused to stop.
After a short pursuit, it was discovered that Zaldivar had multiple electronic devices from numerous area residential burglaries that had occurred in the preceding weeks before that arrest. After his November arrest, Zaldivar posted bond and later failed to appear for official proceedings as required and has remained at large since that time.
Authorities had information that Zaldivar had been known to be hiding out along the Southern Texas Border with Mexico but Zaldivar managed to elude capture for almost six years. Tuesday Zaldivar was placed in the Titus County Jail, after he had been apprehended in McAllen.
Zaldivar was arraigned by a magistrate in Titus County where he is being held under bond amounts totaling $800,000.
