Kirkwood visitation is Tuesday evening

Michael Lynn Kirkwood of Gladewater, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on December 24, 2017 in Longview. He was born on July 12, 1975 in Mt. Pleasant to Ray and Pam (Reese) Kirkwood.

Michael was the Chief of the Gladewater Fire Department, he previously worked for the Mount Pleasant Sheriff's department, Mount Pleasant Police Department, served as a part time and volunteer of the Mount Pleasant Fire Department for 23 years and he worked for the Princeton Police Department.  He was also a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church.

Michael is survived by his daughters; Regan Lynn Kirkwood and Makayla Lynn Kirkwood; parents, Ray and Pam Kirkwood; sisters, Kim Kirkwood and Krista Nordin; fiancé, Carolyn Hammond and her children, Brandon Hill, Brooke Hill and Bayla Hammond.

A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, TX.
