The Mt. Pleasant High School Swim team competed in the Northeast Texas TISCA meet in Texarkana on Nov 17th and 18th. There were 529 swimmers in this meet. "I am very proud of the rankings our swimmers had after all three sessions were done." said swim Coach Echo Johnson.
In order to make the finals on Saturday swimmmers had to be in the top 16 from Friday's sessions. Freshman Ryan Sharp accomplished this feat by qualifying in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke. On Saturday he swam his personal best times in each event with a 56.57 in the Butterfly and 1:00.83 in the Backstroke.
In the 50 Freestyle Makayla Houchin placed 40th, Lily Grace Jones placed 66th and Anna Elliott placed 77th. In the 100 Freestyle Makayla Houchin placed 53 and Isabella Greco placed 62. The relays consisted of Lily Grace Jones, Makayla Houchin, Anna Elliott, and Isabella Greco placed 27th in the 100 Medley and 29th in the 200 Free relay. Luke Scoggin also swam his best personal times.
