This little puppy was hit by a car in Naples. As most of you know there is no animal shelter there to help in cases like this. The Naples Police Department contacted a Titus County Shelter Friends volunteer to see if they could get help for her.
One of their wonderful rescue partners, Road Trip 4 Paws, stepped up to help. She was taken by volunteer Monica to Dr Eric Bruechner, who found after examination that she had two broken legs and severe damage to her tail.
Surgery was done Wednesday morning with one leg having to be pinned and the other splinted. Shelby’s tail also had to be amputated.
She is now with the director of the rescue to begin her lengthy recuperation time where she will receive lots of love and attention until she is well enough to find her own forever home.
Please consider making a donation to the rescue to help defray the costs to save her. We know we have many generous pet lovers in East Texas that will open their hearts to her and the rescue.
Tax deductible donations may be made at http://www.roadtrip4paws.com/donate. Thank you in advance for helping save Shelby!
