Important Announcement from Trinity Baptist Church Pastor Mike Kessler

Twenty-nine and a half  years ago (May 1988), I was literally given the opportunity of a lifetime!  I was graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary when I met Dr. Reggie McNeal, Pastor of a new Church in Mt Pleasant. I was captivated by the vision of Trinity to be a Church to reach young families, as well as, the lost and unchurched.

I was 26 years old, single and originally accepted the call to be Associate Pastor at Trinity. I met Amy Amerson with in the first couple of weeks and we married in June of 1991. Our daughters, Hannah Lynn (1996) and Christina Joy (1998) were born here and we have been so blessed to live our young lives and raise our family here.

Our favorite prayer at Trinity has been that God would do something that only He would get credit for. Over all these years as your Associate Pastor (1988-2003) and as your Senior Pastor (2003-present) we have seen just that; 1,046 baptized and countless others saved!

We have witnessed changed lives as we have engaged our culture with outstanding outreach events, support and recovery ministries, relevant bible study, extreme generosity and a non-judgmental atmosphere that allowed so many to find a Church family and a relationship with Jesus Christ!  It has been an incredible ride!

The Lord has suddenly and with absolute confirmation revealed to Amy and I that our work at Trinity is complete. He has given us a new assignment to lead the First Baptist Church Gilmer, and we have accepted their call to be their next Senior Pastor. Therefore I must offer my resignation as Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church effective Monday November 13, 2017.  My last Sunday with you will be Sunday November 12, 2017.

I want to thank you for allowing us this privilege over all these years. It says so much about what great people you are to allow us to serve you for such a long tenure! To God be the glory great things He has done!
You will always have a special place in our hearts and we are so thankful to keep you as our friends as we will only be 30 minutes away.  May the Lord bless you and keep you and shine His face on you and give you peace!
