CASA
of Titus, Camp and Morris Counties is pleased to announce the
graduating class of October 2017; rom left to right - Mardel “Mardi”
Shifflet, Stephanie Hayes, Kristin Ellermann, Shellie Nelson, Yarsheka
Howard, Sonya Mata and Brant Mitchell.
The new CASA volunteer advocates
took an oath before the Honorable Virginia Schnarr in Titus County Child
Protective Services Court on October 3, 2017.
All
of the CASA advocates completed 30 hours of training and court room
observation. Each CASA volunteer advocate will be assigned a case that
may include a child or sibling group that was removed from their home
due to abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers work for the best interest of
the child/children making sure they have a safe, permanent home as
quickly as possible.
CASA volunteers are citizens in our community,
just like you, that want to make a difference in a child/children's life
while they are removed from their families and placed in foster care.
If you want to make a difference in a child's life contact Michelle
Cobern at call 903-767-3679 or visit becomeacasa.org. Every child has a chance, it's YOU!
