The Duck arrives!

The newest acquisition of the  Mid America Flight Museum  arrived Wednesdaywith pilot Scott Glover at the controls. The plane is a 1939 Grumman Duck. It is one of three still flying and is the only one actually built by Grumman.

It was at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and flew search and rescue after the attack. It sank in the Caribbean in the 1950's and was raised 40 years later. It underwent a seven year restoration.

This is a very special, rare historic aircraft. It can now be seen at the Mid America Flight Museum which is open Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
