This week they are highlighting Food4kids, which just kicked off for the 2017-18 school year.
This program weekly delivers a sack of kid-friendly, nutritious food for the weekend to children who face food insecurity. Every Tuesday at 5:15 in the TCC warehouse volunteers of ALL ages walk through an assembly line to fill the sacks.
Then on Friday mornings, volunteers deliver the sacks to schools where they are sent home with the kids in the program. Teachers have shared how this program positively affects students' ability to learn, and students have shared how grateful they are to receive this food.
