Meet Harvey. He has weathered some bad storms of his own during his lifetime. Harvey was dumped in Mt Pleasant and brought into the MP shelter Friday.
It is always so hard to believe or understand the cruelty inflicted upon animals by humans. He was more than likely used as a bait dog and has suffered injury and abuse for a long time. Harvey has old wounds and scars and infection throughout his body. His spirit is broken and yet he is very forgiving of the abuse he has been put through. The shelter took him to Dr Eric Bruechner at Bruechner Animal Hospital where he received great care from him and his staff. Harvey never offered to show aggression towards anyone that was working with him.
He is now on antibiotics and vitamins to help rebuild his body. What he needs now is people to help rebuild his spirit by showing him compassion while he recovers. We have put out the word to rescues to help Harvey and hope to find him a place soon.
