Historic aircraft joining Mid America Flight Museum

The Grumman Duck underwent a seven-year ground up restoration.
An incredibly historic aircraft is joining the Mid American Flight Museum Wednesday. The 1939 Grumman Duck is a Pearl Harbor Survivor. It should land at approximately noon in Mount Pleasant.

It is one of three flyable Ducks  remaining and the only one built by Grumman. It was at Peal Harbor Dec. 7 1941 and flew search and rescue after the attack.

It sank in the Caribbean in the 1950s and was raised over 30 years later. It underwent a seven-year ground up restoration and won Grand Champion Warbird Oshkosh in 2007.

It has about 51 hours on it since restoration. It is a very very special rare historic aircraft. Everyone is invited to the Mid America Flight Museum to welcome this historic aircraft.
