Titus County 911 dispatch received a call Tuesday afternoon from Kathy Voelker, 47, in Sugar Hill, who said she had been shot by her ex-husband Johnny Lee Voelker, Jr., 48.
Johnny Voelker was arrested and charged with attempted murder, while Kathy Voelker was flown from the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. An air ambulance landed on FM 71 just east of CR 1402. Kathy Voelker was taken to a Tyler hospital for surgery.
Responders included the Talco VFD, Sugar Hill VFD, Titus County Sheriff's Office, and Titus EMS/Fire.
Johnny Lee Voelker remained in the Titus County Jail Tuesday night with no bail set.
