This
week's Mount Pleasant Rotary Club meeting Tuesday, as always, had good food, good networking, and a good
program. Club members heard a presentation by CASA (Court Appointed Special
Advocates) of Titus, Morris, and Camp Counties. This nonprofit
organization provides trained volunteers to serve as advocates for
abused or neglected children who have been removed from their homes by
the legal system in the three counties.
Liz Robbins and Patty Lamb (shown) discussed the need for volunteers to meet the ever increasing number of children entering the system. Rotary Club members also got to meet Enya, CASA's companion animal, who helps comfort and aid children during the troubled times they are facing. Enya also helps with assisting in tasks for children with disabilities.
