City Schedules Spring Clean Up Day
The City of Mount Pleasant and Allied Waste are sponsoring a “Spring Clean Up Day” for CITY residents. On Saturday, May 13, 2017, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Republic Services at the Pleasant Oaks Landfill will be accepting refuse from the City of Mount Pleasant residents at no charge. No commercial loads i.e. shingles/roofing materials will be accepted.
Residents who wish to dispose of appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washers, and dryers can take the items to the Pleasant Oaks Landfill. Compressors should be removed from appliances if possible. Items that will not be accepted include tires, batteries, paint, and oil.
The City will not be picking up at curbside. All items must be taken to the Pleasant Oaks Landfill at 3031 FM 3417.
The Cypress Basin Hospice Thrift Store at 109 N. Madison, Goodwill Industries at 2705 W. Ferguson Road, and The Safe-T Resale Store at 1014 W. 1st Street accept donations of good, clean, used clothing, small household items and working appliances. These donations may be tax deductible.
