Priefert Manufacturing awarded the Pro Patria Award

On March 24th, 2017, Priefert Manufacturing was awarded the Pro Patria Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an official office of the Department of Defense. The Pro Patria Award is the highest-level award that can be bestowed by an ESGR State Committee.

Priefert President Eddie Priefert and Inside Sales Manager Alan Swarts traveled to Austin to accept the prestigious Pro Patria Award during the 2017 Annual Texas Employer Awards Dinner.

"Starting with one product and one employee, which was my grandpa in a one room, dirt floor shop, to now having over 1,000 employees, 60 of which are military personnel, has made my family and I very grateful for all our many blessings" stated Priefert.

The program began with the presentation of colors by UT Austin AFROTC followed by the National Anthem and Invocation. Following dinner, Texas ESGR Committee Chairman, Eddy M. Spurgin spoke.

The Keynote Speaker for the evening was USAA's National Guard Program Director, Richard Smith (CMSgt, Ret.). The three award presenters were Texas ESGR Chairman Eddy Spurgin, Texas ESGR Vice Chairman Finley Brewster, and Assistant Deputy Adjutant General for Army, Texas Military Department, Brigadier General Richard Noriega.

Priefert Mfg. is one of the largest employers in Titus County and is a two-time recipient of the Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas Employer of the Year Award.

To recognize employers who support their Guard and Reserve employees, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) grants a series of Department of Defense awards. Priefert Mfg. has now received three awards from the ESGR - The Patriot Award, The Above and Beyond Award, and most recently the Pro Patria Award.

Additionally, Priefert received three nominations for the 2017 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award from Priefert service member employees.
