Community meeting planned

The Green Door Project has built over 100 new homes in Africa to date.

Pastor Francis Rundles and City Councilman Michael McGahee will host a community wide meeting Thursday evening April 20th at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Greater Hope C.O.G.I.C. located at 1398 N. Elsye in Mt. Pleasant.

Officers from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department will discuss their annual department report, child safety seat program, CRASH grants and reduction efforts, and the Geographic Policing Model as well as a brief question and answer session.

Holly Green and Heather Kimball will introduce The Green Door Project. A Children' s Relief International, Christian based charity that builds houses primarily for widows and orphans in Africa and shares the message of Christ in the villages.

Michelle Cobern will be discussing diversity among the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers benefiting children in foster care programs in Titus, Camp and Morris counties. CASA wishes to insure that children in foster care have a voice who is personally familiar with the culture and ethnicity of the child.
