Tiger Dolls end competitive season
The Mount Pleasant High School Tiger Dolls ended the 2017 Competitive season by attending two events: the ADTS-Gussie Nell Davis Classic at Kilgore College and the American Drill Team School Dance Nationals in Galveston.
In Kilgore, the Tiger Dolls were named Best of the Best (top 10 teams of the whole contest); earned the 4 Star Platinum Award for Technique, Choreography, Precision and Presentation; had the Best Overall Team Banner; earned the Judges Award for Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop; earned the Gussie Nell Davis Award; and won the Division 1 Sweepstakes.
The Tiger Dolls Officers took 2nd place Officer Squad in the Large Category; earned the Best Overall Silver Star Award for Great Technique and Advanced Chorography; earned the Judges Award for Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop, won the Gussie Nell Davis Award; and, won the Division 1 Sweepstakes
Madison Blalock was named the First Runner Up Soloist while Abigail Amerson took the Second Runner Up Soloist. In duets, Jaletha Heath and Nikki Emory took 1st place and Payton Tyler and Rachel Sharp took 2nd Place.
The Tiger Dolls also brought home numerous awards from the Galveston competition. The team was named 1st Runner Up in Large Category; earned Best Overall Technique, Precision, and Choreography; earned the Judges Awards for Jazz, Pom, Hip Hop and Contemporary; won the Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence; and, won Team Sweepstakes.
The Officers won 2nd Runner Up Officer Squad; earned Best Overall Precision and Choreography; brought home the Judges Awards for Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop; won the Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence; and won the Officer Sweepstakes.
Madison Blalock was named 4th Runner Up Solo Winner and Payton Tyler and Rachel Sharp took 1st place in Duet.
“I am so very proud of how the girls performed in Kilgore and Galveston,” said Tiger Doll Director Deidra Wood. “These events are both very competitive, drawing the top drill teams from across Texas. The Tiger Dolls were great representatives for Mount Pleasant High School and the Mt. Pleasant community.”
