MPHS Math Team Places 3rd in State!

The Mount Pleasant High School Math/Science team competed at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association State Meet in San Antonio on March 18th. There were 26 5A schools competing and MPHS placed 3rd as a team in Math and 7th in sweepstakes.

The following students placed at the meet:

Carlos Barboza 4th in 12th grade calculator applications
David Barboza 9th in 10th grade math
Daniel Hernandez 4th in 12th grade math
Jose Liera 3rd in 10th grade math
Nathon Segovia 7th in 11th grade math, 10th in 11th grade calculator applications, and 2nd highest physics score in all grades
Husban Shahid 10th in 12th grade calculator applications

The Math/Science team is currently preparing for the Academic UIL District Meet to be held at MPHS Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25. They are coached by MPHS Math teacher Andy Speir.
