MPHS Math-Science Team Takes 1st in Three Events
The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Math-Science team competed at North Lamar on Saturday March 4th. They placed 2nd out of 11 schools in the overall sweepstakes behind Garland but had the 1st place team in Calculator Applications, Math, and Science.
The following students placed at the meet and won trophies:
Number Sense:
10th grade Jose Liera 5th place
11th grade Devon Reynolds 4th place
Calculator Applications:
10th grade Sanum Shahid T-2nd place, David Barboza T-2nd place
12th grade, Husban Shahid 1st place, Daniel Hernandez 4th place
Math:
9th grade Shelby Courreges 2nd place, Virginia Fuentes 4th place,
10th grade Jose Liera 1st place, David Barboza 2nd place
11th grade Nathon Segovia 1st place
12th grade, Daniel Hernandez, 2nd place Husban Shahid, 5th place
Science:
10th grade Jose Liera 4th place
11th grade Nathon Segovia 1st place
The MPHS Math and Science Team will next compete at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association State Meet in San Antonio March 17-18.
