AEP/Swepco initiates Powering Up Northeast Texas to improve the electric transmission grid
AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is investing approximately $130 million to improve the electric transmission grid in northeast Texas.

Construction is expected to start in Spring 2018 and be completed by Summer 2019. The estimated project budget is $7 million.
The Mt. Pleasant – DeKalb – Naples Transmission Line Rebuild Project consists of rebuilding about 42 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to ensure continued reliable service to customers.
Construction is expected to start in Fall 2017 and be completed by Spring 2019. The estimated project budget is $58 million.
