Mount Pleasant Police officers responded to a burglary of a residence Tuesday evening in the 600 Block of Margaret Drive. At that time an unknown suspect had enter a residence and removed electronics.
Both officers and detectives obtained leads after speaking to several people at the residence and obtained evidentiary information from the scene. Early Wednesday, detectives located the suspect residence and question the homeowner. From that interview, detectives contacted 19-year-old Johnathan Smith of Mount Pleasant.
Smith was interviewed and stolen property was recovered in his residence. Smith was taken into custody, charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a second-degree felony, and booked into the Titus County Jail.
