Gohmert speaks to Tiger football players

U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert, a 1971 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, spoke to Tiger football players at Friday morning’s Breakfast of Champions, a weekly morning gathering of players and community members.

Congressman Gohmert talked about his years as a Tiger Football player and how much the game and team meant to him. He told the players that they would always remember their times as a Tiger football player and said that at his recent 45th Class Reunion, everybody wanted to talk about the football games. He said that some of his fondest memories among all the things that he was done are his memories as a Tiger.

Gohmert reminded them that football is a game of attitude as much as it is a physical game and that if they approached the game with a positive attitude, and held on to that no matter what happened, that they could win. He also told them he excited about the opportunity to be on the sidelines of tonight’s game against Greenville.

Prior to being elected to serve in Congress, he was elected to three terms as District Judge in Smith County, Texas. He was later appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to complete a term as Chief Justice of the 12th Court of Appeals.
