A business on South Jefferson reported Wednesday evening that an older white male came into the store trying to solicit money for the Police Department - Blue Christmas.
The suspect was driving a teal or green Ford Ranger truck. The suspect left when store employees told him they needed to speak to an officer about the donation.
"Blue Christmas" was rebranded many years ago and public safety officials in Titus County no longer use this name for our charitable foundation.
The foundation does not solicit door to door, at businesses or by phone. They have a fundraiser each year downtown inviting the public to donate.
Don't fall into a donation scam. The person asking for money does not represent our public safety charitable foundation or MPPD.
