The new Mount Pleasant Fire Department Puppet Show booth is complete! After a few weeks of hard work the Mt Pleasant Fire Department is ready to take the Fire Safety talks on the road to local children in area schools in October,.
National Fire Prevention Week is observed in the United States and Canada, during the week (from Sunday to Saturday) in which October 9 falls. In the United States, the first Presidential proclamation of Fire Prevention Week was made in 1925 by President Calvin Coolidge.
The Great Chicago Fire happened from Sunday, October 8, to early Tuesday, October 10, 1871. The fire killed up to 300 people, destroyed roughly 3.3 square miles of Chicago, Illinois, and left more than 100,000 residents homeless
