Meet the newest member of the Mount Pleasant Police Department. Police Chief Wayne Isbell swore in Officer Melissa Gonzalez Thursday  in front of a standing room only, crowd including Melissa's mother, sister and her son.

Officer Gonzalez is a graduate of the Northeast Texas Regional Police Academy. She is a veteran officer and previously worked for the Pittsburg Police Department and Mount Pleasant ISD Police Department.
